Five Customers

FIVE CUSTOMERS

📚Quote: "There are no facts inside your building, so get outside." - Steve Blank

🌟 Example: Instagram's genesis was "Burbn", a bourbon-based check-in app. However, after gathering feedback from a concise group of users, they pivoted to the photo-sharing giant we know today, underscoring the transformative power of early and focused user feedback.

💡 Benefit: Instagram's ability to pivot and refine based on early user insights not only differentiated them in a crowded market but paved the way for their meteoric rise and eventual acquisition by Facebook.

Closer to home: Whilst user research wasn't news to me, at Funding Options, I was introduced to the power of engaging with a super-concise group for user feedback and iterating rapidly (thanks Jonas Suarez), a tactic that has proven invaluable ever since.

For example, at FIBR, by reimagining our data upload journey for broker customers, we achieved a 24% increase in applications within one 8-week campaign cycle. Initial conversations with just a handful of brokers highlighted the main blocker. Through iterative designs and further research, we refined our approach, resulting in a more streamlined user experience and kick-started our growth.
